Design Brief

  • One day assembly

  • Can be installed in a large open area where it is either set out away from the façade face or can form part of it. In the scenario where the cubes are laid out into a large area, there are great opportunities to use lots of natural lighting.

  • Impenetrable ceiling & floor

  • Flexible wall structures and finishes

  • OPTIONS:

    • Hard or soft finish panels for acoustic absorption on ceiling and walls

    • The SkyCube can be customized in relation to wall finishes to meet any required acoustic, social , health or security needs. It can still be assembled in a very short time and panels are easily interchanged if need be. [External façade panels can also be changed but with planning]

    • 20mm Safety glazing / 30mm Acrylic walls [Fire rating to be investigated]

    • The clear panel options for monitoring of patients is required.

  • Privacy provided by automated dual blind system

  • All electronics are on the outside of the cube including lighting and Tv/Monitor

  • Voice / motion / touch activation through the ‘glazing’

  • Option - Meth Sensor/Cell Phone detector / Smoke Alarm single unit

  • Option - Independent septic tank with drug sensor

  • Cubes can be stacked & customized

EXTERNAL FACADES

  • SkyCube can form the face of a façade if required

  • Opening windows or fixed windows with external façade cladding can be provided with louver systems.

  • The 'modularization' of the external façade finish would improve programme time, with detailed coordination.

The SkyCube cell is deployable as a standalone item, to be connected to services, but the overall strategy is to construct world-class health care custodial environments and prisons, quickly and efficiently, providing environments that can offer the facility management a very high-tech yet simple way of managing the patients and the asset. The SkyCube is especially effective and useful in scenarios were monitoring of patients and or inmates are required '24/7' for reasons of medical monitoring or self harm for example.
