  • Every cube is individually air-conditioned.

  • Outside of the cube, the scenario is that is it is a large open area.

  • In a situation where the use of this sort of tactical response is approved, when for example a large scale outbreak of violence or riot occurs, natural origin CR mist could be deployed in a ‘sweeping’ manner, into the big open area by means of Cone mist sprayers.

  • This would leave the only sanctuary spaces available to be the cubes.

  • Access to each cube is via biometrics so patients or inmates must use their own cubes, ‘tailgating’ would not be able to be prevented, but blinds would be raised so full visibility across the entire block would be achievable.

  • The cube provides the inmate the only area and opportunity to escape the gassed environment, to wash their eyes, change their clothes and begin recovering from the effects of the NOCR spray.

  • Inmates would be inducted as to how to manage this situation as a part of their entry process and be re-trained as requited by H&S requirements.

  • Once in the cubes, lockdown is achieved.
